2017 Research Projects

Grant: ACFRT Top-up Scholarship (2017)
Project: Altered Carbohydrates are Associated with Compromised Immune Cells in Cystic Fibrosis
Researcher: Harry Tjondro

This study will generate valuable fundamental biochemical knowledge to support the generation of new immune-based therapeutics to alleviate the disease burden of affected individuals.

The ACFRT Grant will enable me to collaborate and visit with Gothenburg University and allow me to build a complete profile of the carbohydrate signatures of each of the neutrophils granules in collaboration with international experts in the field. These described findings are expected to be published this year.

I am currently working at Macquarie University in the Department of Molecular Science and have commenced my second year of my PhD.
