Phone Support

We respond to requests for information from our clients from across Queensland, northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory, our mobile support number is 0437 798 484.

Advocacy

Cystic Fibrosis Queensland is able to provide individual level advocacy with external organisations when a client is not able to achieve their desired outcome.

Rose Cottage

Family members may stay at the cottage if they have a loved one accessing medical treatment in Brisbane. The cottage is a three bedroom house in Chermside, purchased for CFQ by a group of north Queensland families. Rose Cottage has more than 95% occupancy per annum and we have preferred supplier agreements in place for alternative accommodation if Rose Cottage is unavailable.

Hospital Airway Clearance Equipment

In 2014 CFQ secured a grant which allowed us to provide free respiratory equipment to CF people ineligible for MASS (medical aids subsidy scheme) through the CF Hospital clinic physiotherapists.

The items purchased by hospitals under this scheme have all been distributed by the physiotherapist to the CF community. CFQ will once again be applying for a grant to provide this equipment for QLD hospitals and if we are successful, we will receive the funds in June 2018.

We know that people living with CF cannot wait until June for the outcome of a grant. We invite all CFQ members, who are not covered by MASS to apply for funding directly to CFQ for this equipment and we will endeavour to meet your needs. You will need to complete one of the the following forms with your physiotherapist if you would like to apply for funding.

If you have any questions, pleases don’t hesitate to contact the Services Team, 07 3359 8000 or email services@cfqld.org.au.

Equipment Loans

We lend travel nebulisers and portable oxygen concentrators to clients and families. We also have a Wii Fit system available for loan for a one month period.
