Education & Information
Our services are client focused, underpinned by guiding principles and based on identified needs.
Schools
Cystic Fibrosis Western Australia's education support service is provided by the Education Officer on behalf of children and young people through the educational spectrum from day care to tertiary level.
The service is funded by the West Australian Department of Health to enable children with cystic fibrosis to integrate within the normal schooling environment and achieve educational milestones.
Parents and tertiary students can request that the Education Officer contact or visit the relevant school or learning institution to provide information and discussion about CF and to promote awareness about the individual's needs in the educational environment.
The approach used by the service invariably results in a better understanding and appreciation by teaching staff of the person and their needs.
The education contact service beyond the metropolitan area is by telephone, e-mail and provision of Education Packs. Some visits extend to specific towns in the South- West.
