Client Focused
Cystic Fibrosis Western Australia provides a variety of support services to meet the recognised needs of people with cystic fibrosis living in the community, their carers and families. These services are for members of the Association and clients for whom a specialised referral has been made by Princess Margaret Hospital or Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
Services are designed to provide care to a range of ages and groups within the CF community including:
- Newly diagnosed babies and children;
- children of school-age;
- adolescents;
- adults; and
- families which include the parents, partners, siblings, grandparents and significant friends of the person affected by CF.
It is recognised that circumstances of living with CF can give rise to particular needs for individuals and other family members where relevant support is sought and valued. This may be at times of significant change, personal adjustment or re-building confidence. People may at times, require certain clinical supports in the home, or need information, education, and guidance about dealing with issues related to CF. In addition, opportunities for relaxation and respite form a significant part of the needs of individuals, their carers and families living with CF.
Cystic Fibrosis Western Australia is open to suggestions where as an Association it can enhance an existing service or develop new programs.
