Comprehensive Home Care
Our services are client focused, underpinned by guiding principles and based on identified needs.

The Comprehensive Home Care ("CHC") program is funded by the West Australian Department of Health. Membership of Cystic Fibrosis Western Australia is not a requirement for this service. It is designed to provide treatment and /or assistance in the home for people with cystic fibrosis, thereby reducing the incidence or length of hospitalisation. CHC is available by referral from your CF Centre and is described as an early intervention or early discharge package of care. It covers several areas:
- assistance with physiotherapy;
- PICC line dressing by CF Nurse;
- taking of blood for antibiotics levels etc;
- infusaport flush if unable to attend CF Clinic for same;
- newly diagnosed physiotherapy service;
- assistance with transition from PMH to SCGH; and
- Pre and Post transplant assistance.
The services in this program are generally short- term, for example, two (2) weeks, and are only available to patients in the Perth Metropolitan, Mandurah, and Bunbury areas.
Longer term, and less intensive assistance is given with airway clearance and exercise by trained Home Care Workers, under the supervision of a Nurse and Physiotherapist.
Country clients may have a local HACC Care Worker trained up by the Physiotherapist to provide assistance with airway clearance and exercise.
