Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, you just fill in the details on the back of the Entry Form.

How much time do I have for my performance?
Each entry must be a maximum of 3.5 minutes only.  If an arrangement is in excess of this time limit you must contact the Artistic & Production Director – Alex Poor on 9346 7333 during office hours to discuss it.  Or, you can email him on alexp@cysticfibrosiswa.org.

Will there be a piano if I need it for my performance?
Yes.  If you require a piano for yourself to play or for an accompanist to a vocalist or as part of a band, one will be available at each venue where the Audition Heats will be held as well as at the Gala Final at the Methodist Ladies’ College Hadley Hall.

If I have a pianist or someone playing another instrument as my accompanist, do I have to pay an entry fee for this person?
No.  But you must provide the name of the person for inclusion in the program.

Do I need to bring my own microphone, or CD player?
No.  All these items will be provided, however, you must stipulate on your entry form what you will be using and how many microphones will be required.  Professional sound equipment will be used at each venue.

Can I use a mini-disc, karaoke or DVD for my backing music?
No.  Unfortunately the venues would not be able to play them.  Only CDs are acceptable.

Can I sing to the accompaniment of a backing CD with someone else’s voice on it?
No.  This would distract the judges and your own voice would not be heard clearly.  All backing CDs should be instrumental only, or have only minimal backing vocals.

Do I need to bring my own amplifier if I am using an electric guitar or other type of amplified instrument in my performance?
Yes.  All personal amplifiers for electric guitars and any other instruments in a band must be brought on the day.  Some equipment can be plugged into the DI boxes if they are provided at the venues.

How much time do I have to set up the equipment being used in the performance?
A timetable will be worked out to allow you as much time as necessary only.  This must be done as quickly as possible and with as little noise as possible.

What time do I have to arrive for my performance at the concert heats?
At the country regional audition heats all performers will be required to check in at the backstage of the theatre between 6-7pm.  Perth performers will be given a specific time-slot approximately 45 minutes before they are scheduled to perform during the program.  All this information will be advised in writing.

Can I use props in my performance?
Yes, but these must be listed on your entry form for stage management purposes.

Will there be a chair available should I need one for my performance?
Yes, but you must specify this on your entry form.  If you are using a special chair as your personal prop you must bring it with you.

How many finalists will be selected for the Gala Concert at the Burswood Theatre?
Three finalists in each age group and category will be selected from all entries throughout WA after the completion of all auditions.

What awards will be given?
Country Audition Heats only will include awards for the Winners and Runners-up in each age group and category as well as an Overall Winner out of all winners.
Perth auditions heats will not involve any awards.
