All new families receive a 'Newly Diagnosed Pack' which includes the CFQ Information Manual, DVD, a copy of our Positive Profiles publication, respiratory equipment bag and a copy of the Monty book. Free silicone masks are provided to assist with percussion, if requested by your physiotherapist. In consultation with the hospital social worker and/or CF Coordinator, some funds may also be available from CFQ for newly diagnosed families to attend clinic appointments in the first twelve months. CFQ in conjunction with the Zig Zag Foundation and The Ian Potter Foundation, launched a 'Newly Diagnosed DVD and information manual' in January 2009. The DVD and manual were produced in close collaboration with both The Royal Children's and Mater Children's hospital staff, and are designed to support parents during the first 12-18 months of their child's life. The DVD and manual are now available free of charge from CFQ for all families who have had a baby born with CF. You can also purchase the DVD/information manual pack for $15 plus GST from CFQ.
