Massage

Cystic Fibrosis Queensland has access to massage therapists in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and in larger regional areas such as Cairns. Massage is offered to adults with cystic fibrosis during their hospital admissions. A referral from the hospital CF team is necessary.

Massage is utilised to reduce stress, relieve muscle tension and to provide the often forgotten and overlooked benefit of human touch.

For the individual with cystic fibrosis, massage is often used post and pre transplant for the above-mentioned benefits.

The massage program with CFQ is heavily subsidised, however a cost of $5 per massage is required.
