Workplace Giving

Workplace Giving is a joint relationship between your employer, you as the donor and Cystic Fibrosis Queensland (CFQ).  When you contribute a portion of your pre-tax salary to CFQ, you receive the tax benefit straight away rather than waiting until the end of financial year but the charity will receive the full portion that you donate e.g. based on 2018 taxation for an average salary of $60 000, your gift of $20 pre-tax would only be $12.60 from your fortnightly salary (for exact figures contact the ATO). Many employers have a policy to match staff donations, in our example the value of your donation would double and $40 would be given direct CFQ.

If employers are unable to match Workplace Giving and would still like to support CFQ through their employment policies, we strongly encourage them to consider staff volunteering, skill-sharing and in-kind support. This is a great way to enhance the impact of a Workplace Giving program.

There is no designated State or Federal Government funding to provide support, services or fund the research for a cure for people living with CF. Workplace Giving is crucial to ensuring CFQ continue its work.

Why Choose Workplace Giving?

It’s a win-win-win for your employer, you and CFQ.

  • Employers enjoy greater staff engagement, retention, productivity, reputation and social impact.
  • Employees give in a smarter, tax-effective way and build a sense of pride in their employer.
  • CFQ receives regular financial support, access to valuable skills through volunteers and in-kind and an opportunity to build strong partnerships.

Cystic Fibrosis Queensland supports over 1000 people living with CF throughout Queensland, the Northern Territory and Northern New South Wales, who require significant daily medications, physiotherapy and frequent hospitalisations. CF is a life-limiting condition for which there is currently no cure. Despite major advances in treatment, only 50% of those born with this condition reach their late thirties.

CFQ provides information, support and guidance to people living with CF and their families. We advocate for services and systems that support the CF community and seek to raise awareness, understanding and funds for services, support and research. Our mission is to assist everyone affected by CF to be well and live fuller lives.

Workplace Giving ensures the fight for a CF cure continues. If you would like more information about establishing a Workplace Giving program; including volunteering, skill-sharing and in-kind support, please phone 07 3359 8000 or email grants@cfqld.org.au
