Jenny Tunks is on track to become a 2009 IGA Community Chest Unsung Hero! Please help her win this great accolade!
Jenny Tunks has been fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis NSW for more than 30 years, helping raise much-needed funds that are used for medical research and to support people with CF and their families.
Amongst other raffles, Jenny coordinates a guitar raffle for the East Coast Blues & Roots Festival each year. This is a five day festival that operates over Easter, and to date Jenny has raised a total of $150,000 from this event alone.
She is always coming up with new and innovative ways to raise money, and is currently working on creating a ’65 Roses Patchwork Quilt’ which will be raffled with the proceeds going to CFNSW.
Jenny has a 31 year old son who has Cystic Fibrosis, and she plans to continue her charity work until a cure is found.
Her selfless contribution over so many years makes Jenny a true ‘Unsung Hero’.
Jenny has already made us proud by becoming a Regional winner for QLD (the Tunks live in Ballina which falls under the QLD section of IGA), netting CFNSW a $250 donation!
