Great Strides 2008 Results
19/Nov/2008
In true Great Strides tradition the day was a scorcher! Over 300 walkers turned up to put their best foot forward and take great strides for Cystic Fibrosis.
Councillor Tony Fasanella welcomed participants and thanked them for their continued support of our annual charity walkathon. Our national sponsor; LJ Hooker cooked up a storm on the BBQ with bacon and egg sandwiches for breakfast and sausage sandwiches for lunch.
Team Ignite Education was the very first across the finish line receiving a trophy and bag of goodies donated by 3 Mobile. Next across the finish line was Josh (pictured), first child under 12 who beat Stuart (pictured) first adult across the finish line. The Balls (pictured) were the first family across the finish line.
After the walk, 3 Minute Angels were on hand to sooth the muscles of tired walkers and Clowning around Town’s Sparkles and Miffy were face painting and entertaining children.
To date, we have received just over $13000 with money still coming in and the highest fundraisers still to be determined.
Thank you everyone that came along to Rodd Park Drummoyne and took great strides for Cystic Fibrosis. We would especially like to thank Councillor Tony Fasanella, Jenny Smith, Rani Nandan, Darren Wathen, LJ Hooker, Clowning Around Town, Tony’s Meats and Canada Bay Council.
