Fundraising Tips
- Get everything in writing and keep a copy for your records – spoken agreements can be forgotten and can lead to misunderstandings and problems.
- Try and get a local celebrity involved. You may get media coverage and in turn sell more tickets.
- Don’t randomly send letters asking for money or support – you’ll rarely get a response let alone any money.
- Use an event checklist and tick things off as you do them – it will help keep you motivated and organised and you won’t forget to do anything!
- Maximise your fundraising opportunities by combining many ideas into the event. For example: A quiz night could also have a competition, games and a raffle in the same evening.
- Try to get other community networks involved e.g. RSL, Rotary club, Surf club, guides and scouts etc.
- Take many good quality photos. CFNSW loves to receive photos and reports of successful events. We would love to include any success stories on our website and in our newsletters!
- Thank everyone for their support on the day and/or after the event
- Evaluate the event. What went well, what didn't, were there any missed opportunities? You may even decide you want to make it an annual event!
