Update on Gaza
26/Mar/2009
Dear Friends, Cystic Fibrosis Worldwide would like to thank all individuals and companies who have supported our efforts to offer aid to CF patients in Gaza.
CFW has resourced the following for Gaza CF patients
- 55 Nebulizers, enough for every diagnosed child in Gaza
- 2 months supply of CREON 10,000 for every diagnosed child in Gaza
- 43 Kilos of new children’s clothing (for the families who lost everything)
- Various CF medications/supplies from donors in the US
Ashraf and his two sons with CF were recently aided by DR. Eitan Kerem and colleagues from the Hadassah CF
Centre in Jerusalem. Ashraf’s sons were granted permission to visit Dr Kerem and had access to the clinic and CF specialized team. Dr. Kerem and his team have been involved with aiding CF patients in both Gaza and Palestine for years and have given hope and aid to many Palestinian families and children with CF. The Peres Centre for Peace is now working to educate a team of doctors from Gaza at the Hadassah Centre with Dr. Kerem. The Peres Centre will also carry out a program to develop a CF Centre in Gaza and CFW will look for ways to aid them in their efforts.
Currently in Gaza there are no trained CF specialist making it impossible to ship in donated medication that requires a trained

specialist to administer to patients. Once the training is completed in Jerusalem and the team returns to Gaza, CFW will use the cash donations raised for Gaza during the recent conflict to buy specialized CF inhalation antibiotics and other necessary medication, shipping it to Gaza via the Peres Centre for Peace.
CFW hopes all our donors will continue to support our efforts to reach patients in need globally. Please visit www.firstgiving.com/cfw and donate today.
