Fight Flu Media Release

The National Institute of Clinical Studies (NICS) has just released the 2007 Fight Flu website as part of their work to increase influenza vaccinations amongst 'at risk' groups and health care workers.
We would appreciate your assistance in making your members and colleagues aware of this site as it contains facts about influenza vaccination and addresses the myths that have kept vaccination rates in at risk groups, which includes people living with cystic fibrosis, at only 42%. Around 1500 Australians die each year from influenza related complications so it is an important health message to convey.
The NICS program is also targeting health care workers as currently only 20-50% are being vaccinated, a figure that is not sufficient to protect them or at risk patients. A media release is attached here and there are several tools on the website including cartoons, posters and translations.
