Agents Want To Bring CF Cure A Little Closer
13/May/2010
LJHooker, Broadbeach real estate team continues to help the thousands of children and young adults living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in Australia through a fundraiser held Sunday (21 February) at Kurrawa Park Markets.
The highlight of the morning’s sausage sizzle was the auction of a cap signed by popular sporting identity, Scott Draper, at 12 noon.
“A child is born with CF every four days in Australia and there is no cure at this time,” said LJ Hooker Broadbeach’s Principal Bill Rex.
“Every dollar raised will bring CF closer to standing for ‘cure found’.
Genetic research into the debilitating condition has been greatly assisted by LJ Hooker’s injection of funds, and fund-raising activities organised by the real estate offices has had tremendous impact on public awareness of CF.
The real estate network has raised around $3.4 million since 1998 when real estate offices throughout Australia began supporting Cystic Fibrosis Australia.
“We invited the community to help us by coming along and enjoying a sausage or two, and join in the spirit of the bidding on the autographed cap, the fundraiser exceeded our expectations” said Mr Rex.
