L.J. Hooker Australia has now raised over $2 million for Cystic Fibrosis Australia (CFA).
Over the last nine years, the ongoing relationship and support by L.J. Hooker has raised an incredible $2.1 million for Cystic Fibrosis Research.
Cystic Fibrosis Research via CFA benefited enormously from the ongoing support of the L.J. Hooker network since the first donation of $50,000 back in 1998.
“We are extremely proud and very grateful to L.J Hooker staff across Australia for their hard work, dedication and commitment to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis,” said Mr Terry Stewart CEO of CFA.
L.J. Hooker offices nationally are also fundamental in raising awareness of Cystic Fibrosis within their local communities, through fund-raising activities such as golf days, gala balls and sausage sizzles, merchandise sales, as well as supporting Cystic Fibrosis Australia’s national fundraising and awareness campaign 65 Roses Day and Great Strides.
“From May to July this year alone, L.J. Hooker raised approximately $115,000 for our national awareness-raising campaign, 65 Roses Day.
A further cheque for $166,500 was presented by Alan Lambert, General Manager of L.J. Hooker to CFA at the recently held Ruby Anniversary Ball hosted by Cystic Fibrosis NSW. Cindy Tate from LJ Hooker was the auctioneer on the event which was held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Cystic Fibrosis Australia – L.J. Hooker ‘Partnership in Caring’ was recognised by the 2005 Prime Minister’s Awards where L.J. Hooker received a certificate for Excellence in Community Business Partnership.
In 2006 L J Hooker received the Corporate Giving Award which is the highest award presented by Research Australia for medical/scientific research.
Financial contributions made by L.J. Hooker go towards research and have also enabled the development of the Australian Cystic Fibrosis Data Registry, which was officially launched in Canberra in May 2006 by the Hon. Tony Abbott, Minister for Health and Ageing.
“With the support of the L.J. Hooker network, so much has been achieved, but more money continues to be needed to channel into research projects so we can look forward to future success for Cystic Fibrosis,” said Mr Stewart.
