L.J. Hooker Canberra calls in the Raiders to raise $10,000 for CF

L.J. Hooker Canberra City, Dickson, Kaleen, Gungahlin and Project Marketing dedicated the final week of May 2007 to host BBQs, raffles and community get-togethers to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. The team launched the fundraising week with a BBQ and raffle at IGA Kaleen. The offices continued fundraising efforts by hosting another three BBQs at Dickson, Gungahlin Marketplace and Garema Place, Canberra City. .
The sausage sizzles were a favorable lunch option with the recent colder Canberra weather, and Ian McCubbin from LJ Hooker Kaleen said the team was overwhelmed with the charitable donations from the generous Canberra community.
Others who were not sausage eaters purchased CF merchandise from encouraging staff members.
Matthew Herbert from LJ Hooker Canberra Canberra City, sponsors of the Canberra Raiders, decided to pull in the big guys to help raise more funds for CF… and it worked!
The Raiders and L.J. Hooker used the Friday night football match against the St George-Illawarra Dragons to assist in the appeal – a fun night for all who gathered AND another $5,000 was raised!
Matthew Herbert and Mr Hooker Bear from L.J. Hooker, and Canberra Raiders players Adrian Purtell and David Howell presented a cheque for the total amount of $10,000 to Cystic Fibrosis – thank you to all who participated in the fundraising events!
