The team at LJ Hooker Wynyard held a fundraising event for 65 Roses Day in May.   115 people attended the bash which was held at the Wynyard Rotary Group.  It was great to see the real estate rivals Dean Chamley & Associates put aside competition for the evening to come along to support LJ Hooker’s fundraising efforts for CF!

Special guest presenter at the event was Gaylene Bassett, CF coordinator at the children’s ward, Burnie Hospital.  Gaylene gave a passionate presentation about the work that goes on behind the scenes at the hospital for children with CF.

And what would a fundraising event be without an auction?

Forty-three items went under the hammer including:  A Mountain bike - donated by Jack Jones  - valued at $320, Bed & Full breakfast - Harbour Houses, Boat Harbour Beach – valued at $360, a. 49cc mini motorbike – valued at $470 and a Helicopter Introductory Flight – valued at $545.

The infamous Mr Hooker Bear was also there to ensure the crowd dug deep into their pockets for the cause.

The Wynyard team conducted a special a raffle at the front office counter during the week following the event.  The Basket Prize contained goodies including LJH merchandise, the new Raising More Dough" cookbook and CF arm band, the new "Mr Hooker Bear", suede cap, money box, ruler, pens, mugs, stubby holders, wine cooler bag, black shopping bag & $25 dining voucher at cafe next door "Betty Lou's".

Our friends at the LJHooker office in Wynyard exceeded the magic $10,000 - raising a total of $10,117.40 for Cystic Fibrosis.

On behalf of CFA thankyou to all who participated!!!
