LJ Hooker Nerang Climbs Mt Warning for CF

Congratulations to LJ Hooker Nerang for raising an incredible $7,038.85 for Cystic Fibrosis research through their 65 Roses Day Mt Warning Walk. Sixty two walkers ranging from 8 to 65 participated on the day and assisted in raising these much needed funds.

Shane Colqhoun Principal of LJ Hooker Nerang and event organiser saw the challenge of the walk as symbolic of the challenge people living with Cystic Fibrosis face every day. “It is such an amazing view once you reach the top and a great sense of relief and accomplishment, and what better reason to walk a mountain than to raise money for a great cause,” said Shane.

Gold Coast Titan’s Chris Walker joined the walk as well as double lung transplant recipient Kate Green who is on a personal mission to raise as much awareness as possible about Cystic Fibrosis.

“I wasn’t expected to live past 10, next year I’ll be celebrating my 30th, I’ve tripled my life expectancy, and with more money for research our chances of living a better quality of life will only improve,” said Kate.

“I want to get out there and increase awareness on several levels. Firstly, I want to let people with Cystic Fibrosis know they can live a normal life, even climb a mountain, and also I want to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation, I wouldn’t be here today without it.”

LJ Hooker Nerang’s Mt Warning Walk was supported by LJ Hooker Burleigh Heads, LJ Hooker Coomera, LJ Hooker Ormeau, LJ Hooker Mudgeeraba, LJ Hooker Mermaid Beach, LJ Hooker Financial Services & LJ Hooker Murwillumbah AND Sponsors - Wollumbin Consultative Group, Mark Cora, Ace of Frames Nerang, Gold Coast United, GC Blaze, Salt, Breakers North Apartments, Glade Golf Course, Bell Partners Accountant and Think PR.
