Hello All,

My wife has a cousin with Cystic Fibrosis in Russia. She has been using a product to keep her weight up called "Scandishake" which was provided by some sympathetic people in the US. This supply line has dried up and we have been asked if we can get this in Australia and send on to her.

I cannot find where I can purchase Scandishake in Australia.

Is there an equivalent type of thing that we can get in Australia that we can purchase and forward on to her?

Cheers

Roger

Hi Roger
I think in Australia some of these types of supplements are supplied via the hospitals to keep costs down for patients, although we haven't used any of them for a while so I'm not sure this is still the case.
Another product you can get from a chemist in Australia is ensure plus, it is expensive, but maybe there is somewhere you could get it by the carton for less if you google around.
Hope someone can help out.

There are quite a number of replacements for Scandishake. You should look for supplements that help in gaining or maintaining weight, which is what Scandishake do. in fact, Ensure is a product that has similar traits to Scandishake. And I am not sure whether Appeton is available in Australia or not. Appeton has a range of products that helps in weight issues. For your situation, there is Appeton Weight Gain. That product could replace and to be as a substitute for Scandishake. Hopefully you will find a replacement soon.
