Melbourne Boy Shakes Hands With An Armadillo
Who would have thought that an 11-year old Melbourne boy’s love of animals would see him jet off to Florida in the United States?
Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Australia, that’s exactly what’s happened for young Tristan.
Tristan, who lives with cystic fibrosis, has been intrigued with the unusual mammal for years that he would often dream of being an Armadillo whilst staying in hospital.
He’d imagine rolling into a ball with plates attached to his body so that the nurses and doctors wouldn’t be able to prod him with the needles.
When Make-A-Wish heard of Tristan’s wish to get up-close and personal with an Armadillo, the wish fairies went straight to action.
As there are no Armadillo’s living in Australia, Make-A-Wish sent Tristan and family to Florida where he was able to live out his dream of touching and holding an Armadillo.
