For our cousin - Carmel Johnson

This is a little story of some extraordinary children. My son, Spencer is 2 and has CF and this is our story of what his cousins did for him.
Over the Christmas and New Year period, most of my family went down the south coast to our holiday house. I am one of 10 children, plus Mum and Dad, there are 23 grandchildren and numerous in-laws and dogs. With the majority of us holidaying together, all the children have no end of fun, swimming, wakeboarding and what ever else they can think up to do.
During this time, they hold the annual talent show, to be performed on New Years Eve; they manage to swindle a dollar here and there out of all the adults to raise money to be divided among them for a trip to the lolly shop. So they set about selling raffle tickets for a prize that was not as yet even decided upon…… and were hoping to raise approx $50. All they could think about was all the lollies that could buy, they were excited.
Well half way through their fundraising efforts, they had a brain wave and decided to 'get serious' as they said and would turn their efforts to raising money for their cousin Spencer and CF, they would put on a really good show (with practice and all), sell tickets and would make the prizes in the raffle ‘good ones’ and not only include the immediate family, they would now include the neighbours in their 'real' fund raising efforts. They hand made seating and raffle tickets and sold them to everyone they could, they were so good at selling them I, like most, bought twice!!
They worked so hard towards their NEW cause they ended up raising $220 to be donated to CF NSW in honour of their Cousin. Not bad for a few kids! I was so overwhelmed that they went to all this effort for their cousin, even sacrificing the lolly shop. I just had to share our story with you. Big thanks to my Cousins from Spencer and CF NSW.
