Ryan Stanton-Alyssa Denniss Marathon Fundraiser

Ryan Stanton, who is a physiotherapist based on the New South Wales Central Coast, has been so inspired by one of his young patients living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) that he has decided to try his hand at running a marathon while raising awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis Australia. Ryan plays local football but has never even entered a fun run previously, which makes this a monumental task to take on.
Nearly four year old Alyssa Denniss is his inspiration who was diagnosed 12 months ago. Alyssa is a gorgeous girl who will be cheering Ryan on with parents Sonja and Peter and her brother Jordan. The family has agreed all money raised should go to research into a cure for CF, which will benefit Alyssa some day.
"Alyssa is a great little girl. I think it is helpful for the general public to realise that a gorgeous, beautiful girl can have serious medical problems. Children with CF look just like any other kid, so people have trouble understanding the complexities and difficulties that CF causes in their lives. Hopefully my marathon effort will help educate people on what CF is all about, while raising much needed funds." says Ryan.
Ryan will be running in the 42km Canberra Marathon on Sunday April 15th.
