David has trained hard to take on this solo effort in the manner it was first attempted over 100 years ago. He is hoping to complete the 17000 kilometres in about 250 days. His plan is to cover a minimum of 60 kilometres per day.
On his epic journey David will be raising awareness of Cystic Fibrosis throughout Australia and also raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis Research. The National Sponsor for Cystic Fibrosis, L.J. Hooker, will support him along the way.
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of young people. In Australia a child is born every four days with Cystic Fibrosis and there is no cure. Too many young people continue to loose their lives due to the effects of this disease.
The money raised form David’s incredible journey will go to Cystic Fibrosis Research to assist in developing better treatments until a cure can be found. People with Cystic Fibrosis deserve and should have the right to live longer and healthier lives and the input of funds from David’s ride will assist this to happen.
Be at the start of this epic journey!
